Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)

If you want to choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf in the event of you becoming physically or mentally incapable, please talk to us about Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).

A Personal Welfare LPA can cover decisions about health and welfare, such as where to live, and choices in care and medical treatment.

A Property and Affairs LPA can cover decisions about financial affairs such as selling a house or managing a bank account.

The issue of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) can raise many questions. As a law firm offering advice on LPAs, Whiteheads Solicitors personal service and knowledge of the issues involved ensures clients are able to ask all the relevant questions to reach their own, informed decision.

LPAs give people the choice to select someone they trust to make decisions on their behalf in the event they become physically or mentally incapable themselves. In broad terms, they deal with health, welfare and financial factors.

A Personal Welfare LPA can cover decisions about health and welfare, such as where to live, and choices in nursing care and medical treatment.

A Property and Affairs LPA can cover decisions about financial affairs such as selling a house or managing a bank account.

We appreciate that this is quite a complex issue, and coming soon from Whiteheads is a free online video guide to LPAs to help give a broader picture.
